Technically then, running up the pitch from kick off raping the trick stick does the same job...scoring from the kick-off

It was us, the British who gave Football the nickname Soccer because at the time there was Rugby Football, so Soccer was a way of distinguishing the two apart. America already have a sport called Football, it's called Football because the ball is a foot long, they use the name Soccer to distinguish the two like we did previously. So guys, don't be be hatin' the Americans for saying Soccer when we used to say it. Just saying this to enlighten the ignorant people out there.
