The New Chaw Bio:

The "Old" Chaw, known as the original Chaw or just Chaw, played some country rockabilly tunes and entertained a handful of people. Lead vocalist and guitarist Stakes Johnson then bought a bajo sexto and started playing with his brother. The noise that resulted was clearly not country music, so they distanced themselves from Chaw, and named themselves The New Chaw. Which is convenient, because no matter how many times they change the lineup or their sound, they can always be The New Chaw.
