A short lesson about photo manipulation: Red Eye removal with GIMP 2.4.For best results select only a small area before running the filter, do not run it on the entire image.

I needed someone to say use the elliptical selection tool, and use "shift" to select the other eye, and then use the filter.

even though there's no sound it made perfect sense, I had just tried the red-eye removal tool with similar results
I'll go back and try again, I'm sure it will be great this time
