@JOSHBATTLE when someone plays the puck, a defender can hit them either while they have it or a moment after they shoot or pass. If the player that gets hit pushes them back, then they're usually called for interference since the purpose of hits is to take an offensive player out of the play, not a defensive player. Plus, they usually end up getting in a fight if they shove the player who hit them
