I love this song, and Canada. They are the best neighbors any country could ask for. It just saddens me that some Canadians think they have nothing to be proud of except the fact that they're not American. You live in one of the most beautiful, prosperous, and free countries on earth, you should feel lucky and proud without having to resort to badmouthing Americans (not our government, but all 300million of us Americans, most of whom really really like you =).

@Melannen You know there's a song just like the one he quoted that goes "I'm proud to be in Canada where at least I know I'm free"(called God Bless you Canada) to most of the same lyrics by the same guy. Not only does he consider the USA and Canada equally free in that regard but the song done for Canada is grammatically correct. PS, I'm American and I think it's disgusting how so many American Youtubers go around telling Canadians that they aren't allowed to be proud of their wonderful country.

I know you probably don't genuinely believe that about all Americans. But I am American and I don't feel that way at all. In fact, there are a great many Americans who do not feel that way. The problem is that there are a great many more of us brainwashed into thoughtless patriotism. Spread some love and you'll find that there are always those who will spread it back.
