cutting a door jamb in 30+ year old mahogany with fein construction oscillating tool, only running speed 2-3 and med sharp blade, will cut much faster on speed 6 but splinters once and a while on edges at that speed if not very careful, so that's why it may seem that I'm cutting slow.

  • Mind you that job normally takes half the time, is your blade worn?

On worktops a router cutter will perform 2 mitres and a couple of end cuts and thats it, a new cutter on every new kitchen installation its the oly way to get precise joints everytime, same with any multi tool, price a blade into every job it is required.

  • @TheForza1000 the truth! :) thanks for watching

  • Actually my King Canada oscillating saw will cut a door jamb quicker than that Fein.

  • @55Dudester Post me a vedeo response when you do(in the same material please). And then I'll put a sharp blade on and compare apples to apples. The King's are great value, if I hadn't had to buy mine when I did, and had other options, it might have been a tough choice for me, however it still payed for itself in one job and it'll last a lifetime. One could say it was still overkill. Thanks for watching and the comment. Awaiting your vr :).

  • :), usually I just flip the board upsidedown or use a scrap, better technique would have been hold it down flat a bit more, or raise the camera so you couldn't see it :). Good eye, thanks for viewing and the comment!

  • ignore supersesqui, the uk is full of diy experts or destroy it yourselfers.

I recently went to quote a new wardrobe installation and upon seeing the existing wardrobe commented on its shoddy construction only to be told it was to be built in the next room and that the customer had recently built the wardrobe i commented on...embarrasing, although he was very pleased with his work.

The multi tool is a great tool and even with the blades being disposable i wouldn't be without it..

  • Learnt to use the tool correctly!

Place the blade FLAT on the sacrificial board to cut the jamb. FFS

  • @theboybg @theboybg , sorry, I know it's not the greatest vid , wanted to give people an idea of how long it generally takes to cut a jamb in real life with this tool, it's the only hands I have at the moment. :)
