..and he would have been killed or captured before he even got within a thousand metres of McCain. Regardless of the fact that setting up a carbomb or explosives takes time and McCain would have swooped in and out in minutes.

It has nothing to do with the competence of our forces. Unfortunately because of the nature of warfare in Iraq, unless that area has absolutely no insurgents, a determined AQI or Mahdi Army operative could've let loose a few rounds our set off an explosive in that market.

Yeah because the U.S. Apache and blackhawk pilots are so incompetent they'd allow any car into that area. And the one hundred U.S. soldiers are so incompetent they don't know how to form a ring of defence around their security detail.

Fuck CNN-I say Cafferty is smoking crack. If that market wasnt safe an insurgent could've blown up himself or his car and killed John McCain along with most of those 100 soldiers. Hell a sniper in one of thos buildings could've popped him
