Aboard the overnight train between Vienna, Austria and Bucharest, Romania. Past gypsy villages, snow-capped mountains and lush green farmland. No dining car or en suite bathroom. Subject to middle of the night border-crossing passport checks. Also note that gassing of the sleeping compartments may still occur. Surprise visits by the border police is terrifying.

  • Damn dude, Romania isn't all about gypsies. -.-

    I just hate when a foreigner associates Romania with the gypsy land...

  • @cortexedge Thank you for watching and for your comment. Romania is a beautiful, colorful country. I agree...The more that visitors travel throughout Romania and experience all that is has to offer, perhaps the gypsy association will lessen and the beauty of the country will be foremost in their minds.

  • I see you were board on an Austrian sleeping car (WLAB P), stainless steel car. Does it have Air conditioner if it was modernised ? I also saw that windows cannot be opened completely...

  • @mureseanu976 ->Correct. Yes, it was air-conditioned...although not great, but better than nothing. The window only opened slightly. While the mattress was comfortable and the linens freshly cleaned, the train itself was not what we would call modernized. But I'm happy that we made it safely from Vienna to Bucharest.

  • Good series...

    keep on keepin on

  • @RedKruzer ->Thanks! I've a bunch more to upload.

  • I love travelling by train, this year I went from Paris to Bucharest via Switzerland. The Romanian network is not the best out there, but it id definitely better than what i'v seen in Switzerland and Austria, not to mention Hungary.

  • Oh, never seen a place to be worse than Wien Train Station if happens to get there by night. They simply kik out everyone and close the train station. This thing created an entire criminality network in the train station area , taking advantage on the people unaware of the train station being closed. So, if you travel by train make sure you reach Wien during the day time or you are totally screwed.. And yes, police will not give a dam about you.

  • The Romanian sleeping car on this train look much better than this one, also with a shower at the end of the hall. The train does have a board restaurant.

  • @CruiseMaven I know it's beautiful, but some people ruin it... I guess every nation has its bad inhabitants...

    I hope you enjoyed your stay here. :)

  • @CSXKid5016 ->Intruders board the train and while everyone is sleeping...they release sleeping gas through the ventilation system. Happening only a year ago again.
