You know, for awhile there Alain Delon seemed to me too pretty--in the '60s those beautiful looks kind of got in the way and American film producers seemed not to know what to do with him. But he lived a lot and aged some and by the 70s had become a powerhouse of an actor--cool, strong, self-contained, incredibly subtle. Incredible performer, and I really love him paired with Deneuve (another elegant and subtle actor) in "Le Choc".

It's an excellent film, with some very tense, exciting (if one should say that) scenes of violence and best of all Delon and Deneuve striking some wonderful romantic sparks together. I rented this from Netflix as part of a double bill from the Catherine Deneuve Collection (the other film was "Manon 70", not nearly as good) and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend it to you.
