this is example of a teacher sho is overly hands-on. She didn't let the child figure out any of her turns or holds to the ledge. At every exercise, even before the child was struggling, she did all the work for the child. This will only hinder the child's progress and when the time comes when the baby will need to 'fix it' in her own, she won't have the proper training. The teacher clearly taught her the correct forms but handicaps her progress.

Here i a thought.....watch your kids and they wont fall in a pool...she looks miserable

Ok people. Would you rather have your child die from drowing or enroll them in this class? For people saying this is wrong and other crazy stuff, they are trying to help teach her so she will know what to do when the instructor or parents arent there. I would rather have my child do this than to bury them. Point blank period.

I totally get the fact that people want their kids to be able to save themselves if they ever fall in a pool. But Jesus what this lady did to this child is just wrong. She couldnt catch her breathe and yet the woman still put her head under the water. She was struggling to breathe and not to mention all the water and chemicals the child is swollowing. That can not be good for her. The woman keeps saying "your going to sleep so good tonight". I wouldnt if i were that child.

Actually, sparky babies have a natural reflex to hold their breath under water. Learn something.

Actually Ariella is now 4 years old and loves swimming and is a great swimmer! Drowning is the number #1 death cause in children in Florida and my daughter is happy, healthy and growing up to be quite the swimmer! I would not reccommend this particular YMCA, program or instructor....I have found far better one's since my daughter attended.

she deosnt ejoy it, dont you see? Stupid ppl!!! In shes whole life she will hate water because of You!!!!!!!!!!!
I understand everyone's concern but please undersatnd in the state of Florida the number one reason for child death under age 4 is drowing. This program ensures a baby can float to the surface. This extra minute gives a parent time to save their child's life. You all will be happy to know Ariella is now 2 1/2 years old and this did not hurt her in any way and she loves to swim and does so pretty well now after continuing swim lessons with Ms. Julie and Mr. Blue...who are amazing by the way!
