Abstract of the Ducati Press Conference that took place in Milan, November 1st, 2010. Unveiled all the new models for 2011: Diavel, Monster 1100 EVO, 848 EVO and 1198 SP.
@rasheed29--second part of my answer --- I think an Endurobike is everytime a good choice for a newcomer. My wife started with a Yamaha XT 600 in 1988 and was very pleased with it. Try it out. And after some 2 or 3 years of experience buy a Diavel !
@rasheed29 Hello rasheed. I don´t know anything about your skills in motorbikike driving. You are tall and a little bit heavy, so you won´t be happy on a Monster 696, which is normally a good bike for starting. I started in 1973 with a 250cc Honda which had enough power for a bloody beginner like me ( at that time ). The diavel is a very strong and maybe evil bike. In your case I would prefer the Multistrada ( with power control ) and a very good performance in roadholding.
Hello, I like your article and would like to take your advice please.
I start learning on motorbikes since 1 year and i took lot of courses, i feel confident to drive. Do you think the ducati diavel is a very strong bike? I like the bike and speically you can decrease the HP to 100hp.. Would it be safe to ride one? or i should start with smaller biker? by the way im 6'5 foot, almost 100 kg.. 195Ibs.
I had a 2007 S4RS Monster in Pearl White with the red frame and red stripe. Termignoni carbon fiber exhaust , yo yo dyne slipper clutch with open primary. I sold it a year later and i kick myself for selling it. The Diavel looks like a winner.
After 32 years of riding a great variety of motorbikes ( from nearly all big manufacturers ) I bought my first Ducati , a Monster 1000 DS, in 2005. And in 2008 I bought a second Ducati the fabulous 848. These two bikes are the best choose in my whole life. My wife considers a happy smile on my face every time I open up the garage.
A Ducati keeps you young and driving them is a great pleasure every day !
I´m much too old for driving boring comfortable bikes ( like the bavarian ones...)
the Monster doesn't have the lowest seat height. The Hypermotard does. I was going to buy one but it was way too low and felt really weird to sit on. Bought a Streetfighter S instead.
@Loringuy am sorry but what you're saying i like someone says that Ferrari and Lamborghini should stop making supercars that are excellent and start making cars like the s class or the phantom...........its just not going to happen.......Ducati tradition is to excel at the track....to be the ultra fast and ultra beautiful machines.....thats what they do the best and my opinion.....when you grow old and you have atretics you dont drive a Ferrari or a Zonda...more like a Bentley or a Rolls.....
Ducati needs to take a break from "Super" bikes and Hp and concentrate on two up bikes, Touring, sport yes but confortable for long distance tour, As rider base gets older, not all of us are dreaming about being a Gp Rider anymore. Some of us just want to ride Italian and Tour.
