Country is open to international investment, with business friendly government and good infrastructure. Expect further rapid growth and social transformation. • I suspect the real reason for the property boom is economic liberalisation, especially in the financial services sector.

  • Yes it is true that inward investment in financial services / banking is very significant, And Ukraine as with other former Soviet bloc nations is rushing to catch up with countries further West, with huge investments in infrastructure.

  • I meant that it is easier to get a mortgage because the socialist rules have been relaxed as happened in Poland.

I surmise that the main drive is internal, not external, although I could be wrong.

  • Both. There is also a lot of speculation by investors outside Ukraine eg from Russia and Europe.

  • Your business perspectives, Dr., must be mainly for the rich and the corrupt. Like in most countries in transistion, inequality is increasing in UA, leaving a big part of the society worse-off.

  • That is true. Contrasts between the wealthiest and poorest in Ukraine are growing fast, as is the case in almost all other parts of the world, especially emerging economies.

  • NICE

  • And Im not talking about extremely height corruption rate! As I was there few times, it was really problem! And another thing when I was in such cites like Lwow, biggest city in western part of country. They having there water max for 2 hours a day! Even in big hotels! Same situation in Uzhhorod in Slovak borders! This country is really now in bog problem during crisis! They was having lot too do in prosperity time. But now it is like in some African countries!

  • Now GDP of Ukraine is -23%, it is economical death! Ukraine is divided country. East part doesnt like Kiev and Ukraine. They want separate state, as they as Russians more likely. West of Ukraine is fascist ideology. So it is very not stable ground for investors as home war is really likely!

  • Friendly towards business? What a load of crap. 6/10 Ukrainians are exposed to corruption. For foreigners it is 10/10. Ukraine really really sucks!

  • Oh dear, isn't all that venom coming from you r russian? Or you lost your job recently? Just chill, mate. Or just leave for Taganrog, that should help %)

  • Bullshit!!!! Stable? Are you out of your mind? Ukraine economy will go down even more and this entire situation happening because of the stupidest government policy that ever existed. Those idiots are fucking around with no reason; they just do not know what to do. How in fuck a hooker and a Farm accouter can lead the country?

  • Ukraine's economy IS DEATH NOW. World crisis killed Ukraine's economy . I dont think that Ukraine will be one of the richest and strongest countries in Europe.

Stupid Yushenko is not good leader
