cool stuff, does it give you problems going back and forth between uniden and gre? Or do you pc program everything? I think I'm going to pick up a 396T next time I'm in town, I've heard the dynamic memory makes all the difference, so you're not wasting all those memory channels.
don't put that scanner in your car or you can face time, in nyc scanners are illegal in cars unless your PD/FD or auxiliary PD of volly firefighters or people who have a permit from chief of police ie. media.
but however don't walk around in the streets with your scanner on and if you are a felon your scanner can be taken away. you can have it at home or at work but not in your car.
enjoy scanning and follow state laws..
P.S. i have a pro 82 and a pro 97.

Scanners are illegal in NYC if they have police (as far as I know its only police, maybe EMS) programmed into them.

I never PC programmed anything. I usually just listened to my local city PD. But if you do get one I suggest you do everything manually for a while so you're not dependent on a computer.
The dynamic memory was great. The only thing I have to say about the 396T is that the reception is...nothing compared to a GRE unit. If you want a great Uniden receiver with reception I highly recommend the BR330T, trunks all types of Analog, a lot more sensitive, and has a wider range for searching.
