  • any chance you will add MSN or Facebook chat to the conversation list?

  • Support for several communication protocols will be available as 3rd party plugins which you can easily install on the device. Those will integrate with the device applications.

  • so will it really use skype to call? over 3g too?

  • Yes, Skype calling works over cellular data.

    Google Talk works too.

  • @fssproject did you solve this problem . i have one friend that her message cant be seen in the inbox. only hers . every other ones are fine .

  • I have a bit of a strange issue with the Conversations App. I can see new messages in the preview (well the first line anyway) but when I click on the conversation it appears empty. I can therefore never actually read my IMs and texts and they keep appearing as unread. I cannot seem to delete them either. Any ideas?

  • I have this phone and 1 thing that is really troubling me is that i can't forward messages to many people by making groups ...i have to selct multiple contacts 1st and the forward the message ..is there anyway i can make groups so that i can froward messages to the whole group ??

  • i tried it doent....however there is a 3rd party app called fring which enables video on skype

  • Can we use the front camera with skype?

  • where is jaakko's cool jacket and gloves, he should be wearing it in every video

  • You can get almost all pidgin supported protocols integrated to N900's coversations and contacts via 3rd party plugins. These include MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, Facebook chat, and even Twitter!

  • I have been playing with IM in the SDK with MSN, Yahoo and AIM support installed.

I love how conversations works, just a shame the SDK is really buggy as it crashed them wont login to IM anymore, so you can't really get the feel of how the final device will operate.

The N900 itself incidentally has been reported to be very stable. Its just the SDK which seems really fragile for some reason.

  • irssi spotted on the laptop :P

  • thank you for the quick reply.

I'm buying this phone as soon as possible! :)

Good to see you answering questions from the community ;)
