phoenix downs are merely used for ppl that go KO not from death
when everyone is petrified/paralyzed in a battle its gameover as well as when everyone is knocked out because then ur party is prey to be finished off by the enemy

@Psyga315 Phoenix downs are for a KO not a death. When Your character falls in battle it is considered unconscious, when they all become KO'd the everyone dies. I'm sure that she wasn't quite dead yet, and someone could have use Heal motherfuckin 3 ..... but eh, story must go on.
