  • An amazing performance. Its not just the speed and accuracy of those fast octaves - a technical facility to match any of the legendary pianists. But also the way he makes sense of one of Liszt's more bombastic works by getting a coherence over the whole and bringing out the flow of the whole piece - those overarching lines. Ogdon's a genius!

  • wonderful performance; one of the best, in my opinion.

  • What alternate universe is this guy from????????????

  • Before i only listen to Sofronisky version, this is also compareble to it ,^^

  • This one easily becomes trashy ,bombast if the pianist is not equal to Liszt's fine creative sense. He makes it epic, soaring.Ogden could do anything. His Busoni concerto really rises above. Why bother with sorabji? His Nielsen recording shows well what a fine mind he has.DId he rec Schoenberg or Berg sonata .Webern variation?

  • Ogdon and Gould different but equally comparable. Both are pure magic.

  • fantastic stuff!

  • Instantly became my favorite recording ever.

  • really great. love it ! THANK YOU so much !

  • Great comment --- agree totally.
