9 acres of woods adjacent to the east edge of Seahurst Park are scheduled to be developed by the Westmark Corporation. This is a video inventory of the native plants that might be lost.

  • Our forest, too (youtube: Flower Mound Urban Forest Slated for Development); they started to clear the land a few weeks ago. Deals were made on the sly and the land sold to a developer before we environmentalists got wind of it and could do anything to save it, like encourage the town to put at least some of the land in public trust for a nature preserve (but the pro-development Town Council wouldn't have been open to that idea, anyway). Sigh.

  • it has not been saved. they started clearing land for roads and will start building next year. it really made me sad. my family has lived hear since before it was even a town, and people who moved hear not even 5 years ago are trying to change it.

  • What happened to the forest?

  • What happened to the forest? Was it saved? Developed? We're trying to save a forest of our own--YouTube video: Flower Mound Urban Forest Slated for Development--so we have an idea of what you're going through. Best of luck. You did a great job documenting what will be lost--or, hopefully not, what was lost.
