http://www.alien-news.org/ Sean McCormack, US State Department Spokesman has released a special statement with respect to Russia's latest intention of increasing additional military contingent in Abkhazia (Georgia's one of two breakaway regions and "frozen conflict zones").
Washington expresses its grave concern over the May 31 statement that of Internal Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation with concern to deploying railway military units in Abkhazia without prior consent of the Georgian side.
According to Mr. McCormack's assessment, the latest Russia's decision is even more incomprehensible now that Georgia announced at the UN Security Session, held on May 30, over its intention to cease flying of Georgian spy jets over the Abkhazian territory. As Mr. McCormack stressed, US had already informed Russia of its standpoint regarding the increase of military units in Georgia's breakaway Abkhazia on the part of big stick Russia.
Russia began deploying railway military units in Abkhazia upon the instruction of Dmitry Medvedev, Russia's new president as of yesterday, May 31.
"Special heavy vehicles of the Russian railway military units are working on the Abkhazian territory to improve the current infrastructure," reads the May 31 Russian Defense Ministry's statement. The Russian side presumes completion of rehabilitation works on Ochamchire-Sokhumi section of the railway line in 2-3 months.
Grigol Vashadze, Deputy Georgian Foreign Minister said Russia once again violated the Georgian state sovereignty with this latest move.
