Extracts from a speech by the Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP, Chairman of the Centre for Social Justice, at The Salvation Armys Seeds of Exclusion symposium 14 October 2008 in Westminster Central Hall, London. The Symposium debated the findings from The Salvation Armys The Seeds of Exclusion report, a recent piece of in-depth research undertaken with people living in Salvation Army homeless centres. The report identifies poor childhood relationships as a key cause of social exclusion and warns that a new generation of children risks becoming socially excluded and even homeless unless urgent action is taken to tackle poor parenting. • It's wankers like this cunt that make people poor because they allow employers to pay workers peanuts whilst these thieving bastards fill their pockets with public cash. He talks out of his fucking asshole just like any other MP. Fuck off you baldy bastard and buy a rope and hang yourself you piece of shit. You are nothing but a spunkbag you vile lump of horseshit. You are a fecking chimp so stop insulting those that are cleverere than you and your fellow wanking MP scum. Fuck off slaphead.

  • It's not so much about blaming the poor, although his wording can be bad at times. I think his point is that it if parents are poor it limits the life opportnities of a child, which I think is true.

The danger is though that for all this hypothesising, we often don't think about how we can intervene to change that, and I mean WE.

If we leave it as something that someone else will do rather than seeing it as our responsibility nothing will get done, and that includes just blaming it on bankers.

  • What about the dysfunctional rich bankers that screw us left right and centre while you BLAME THE POOR.
