@6Camel6Finger6 I do own a torque wrench but I didn't use it. Briggs uses a tapered thread for their drain plugs similar to the gas pipes in your house. So the threads actually do the sealing not the head of the bolt like normal. This also puts strain on the block where it goes in because it is constantly applying pressure outward from the bolt. I used teflon tape to help the slight leak I had before and this caused the bolt to tighten up very easily and crack the block.
