Anino ng Araw 2009

A simple film project made for our senior year Filipino class. Filmed about 10 years ago, Anino ng Araw (Loosely translated "Shadow of the Sun) is about five people joined together by a tragic accident. On the brink of losing consciousness, the victim - a homeless man, imagined his revenge on the people responsible for the accident. Meanwhile, the people inside the car each had their own thoughts to deal with: One person, worried about his own personal safety, imagined the victim coming after him. One passenger fantasized a way for him to capitalize on the accident. Another passenger thought the worst and was unable to react to the situation. However one of the passengers decided to act. Which one would it be?

This film was our group's entry to the 4th Year Class Film Competition in 2000. We did not win.

The project was filmed with a single analogue camera (am I right?). Our budget was limited and we were only allowed to use editing functions that the school editing board had. Competition rules only allowed ten minutes per film.

I did the re-edit to fix some tape degradation. I was only able to use the final film we had which my friend Jong kept and digitized from the analogue VHS format. The sound came out in mono so I re-sample the music and sounds (except for ambient sounds and dialogue). I also did some subtitles for the non-tagalog speaking viewers (if any). I made some additions which I hope my group/friends would like. Note: The music featured in the film are owned by their copyright holders and was not used for profit and any other purpose other than the film project. Re-edits made in iMovie 2009. Enjoy!
