I just got one of these today. It was an open box so I did not get an owner's manual. My water heater is installed in the garage and it's cold here now. Should I still have it on the heat pump setting? There is no warm air for it to be using.

@julebuggy No reason why not... Super insulate your shed internally to act as a cold room [thereby saving on radiant and convected heat losses[ ...duct insulated lines into the house...and depending on how it well your house is sealed up maybe have a recirc line to redirect some of the return air back to the shed as you say.. then as you say unplug during the Fall seems worth a go... [Says he from Ireland! where we would have Zero use for Air Con!!! Good luck .].....

For people with an external shed storing the hot water heater, has anyone tried to channel the cool air into the house via some duct work? You can disconnect during the winter so the cold air stays outside.

@glotoniok no, you can only heat the water up to 140 degrees....

I own this and it works...It cools and dehumidifies my basement with hot water being made as a bonus...I run it all the time in heat pump only mode which uses 500 watts....
