This is what happens when you combine shoddy website design with shoddy, poorly trained incompetent customer service personnel, and management. In this thread you will see documentation of ebaY Live Help Rep "Shena R." give wrong, incorrect, false, harmful, dangerous advice to the nip0664, thus assisting the scammers-hackers, and resulting in ebay member nip0664 losing his/her money.

i bought an item y-terday from affordaphone.

it was still protected by a buyers protection programm (the one where the seller has deposited the money with an ebay account). i bought it with the "buy now" function, but today the auction is still runnung up (without the buynow option) and the buyers protection has been removed.

whats going one?!

well i sent the money already.

i talked to a ebay rep on this yesterday, and she confimed the buyers protection thing.

Not really. But we don't recommend paying through Western Union as it's harder to file for a dispute should there be any problem with the transaction.

Yes, and one would believe that no one should know that simple fact better than ebay LiveHelp. Yet you see the shoddy information regularly dispensed by ebay's so called "Customer Service.

What a sham!

Clearly they are not to be believed nor trusted.

DryBONESreborn, the FACT is, they DID tell to pay with other methods, as seen in the video and screencaps. This event was witnessed widely, and documented else where, such as Doc's ebaymotorssucks, firemeg, etc.

Your comment is a slap in the face to the victim of ebay gross incompetence, and is wholly false.

Ebay LiveHelp has a HORRIBLe reputation for service, look around.

Very interesting and informative. Bought something small on it last week for 15euro but within hours of purchase the seller was no longer registered. Don't know what happened there? Always had my suspicions. Will be avoiding like the plague from now on.Its only through vids like this we get to probably scratch the surface of whats really going on. Don't understand how they're allowed get away with it.

Tips: avoid sites & pymnt services which are hacked, have horrible customer service, have Mafia style "protection rackets", use paid undercover liars to harass their clients, heavily censor their forums, operate without regulation, have a history of scandal, have umpteen lawsuits for various mal-behavior/policies etc

@donncha0 got money back in the end as i scammed a scammer into sending me his account details, some are soo dumb, also tested on my friend, they dont even care about accidental transfers, they rely on the person receiving the money to be honest. HOW FUCKED IS THAT

@donncha0 ye happened to me once for a ps3 lost $500 and i did bank tranfer, did u know after the bank transfer goes through banks dont do shit as they say we iniated the transfer and ebay isnt working with banks its like making a purchase online but banks dont care or have anything to do with it, ur liable even if the reference says ebay, so the scammer closes his bank and ebay acc and leaves and ur bank wont do shit or supposedly cant do shit

even bank trasfer isnt safe and paypal to a degree

the buyer protection when associated with bank transfr is a myth but with paypal its coll because ebay wont lose money but the seller may, they do whats called a charge back to the seller account and then u get refunded

its also being used as another scam 4 buyers to scam sellers sending back fake items 4 refund and all and ebay does nothing about it 4 the seller cus tracking no. exists i could send u a rock and itll verify trackng no. for ebay

Ebay help is poorly trained & equipped, and they do NOT care about YOU.

There are far too may safer, more honest, more trustworthy places to buy from, & they have GUARANTEES, not sleazy, espeak double-talk!
