@smallvillesam62 Geometry has nothing to do with the price of the bike. I rode a GT avalanche. Once I upgraded the fork to Marzocchi, which were 1" longer, I could not climb slopes like that anymore. The front wheel would rise and if I shifted my weight fwds I would lose traction. Anyway, will be soon riding around Dallas and Boulder park trails is on top of my list!

Maybe someone can start a mountain biking metal band and give free rights to upload for bike videos.

re: Shadow. That guy is cool. I met him on one of the Trail Maintenance days. He knows his stuff! He is good at welcoming new members and directing volunteer help. Cheers!

Maybe its been improved. I rode it a few years ago and it had lots of rat-tails to the main trail, and there is a paintball trail across the way that looks like more mtb trail, but its not, as I found out (bap bap bap bap).
The Giant rider @ 3.50 clears the steep climb much better! Is it the bike's geometry?

@puccagigaru No it was his youth and ability. That was 3 years ago and I now can fly up that hill. I also ride a much better bike than when I rode then.

@smallvillesam62 I made the comment because I've got the same bike...It is true that you need good bike geometry to climb slopes like this. Most important is to hit the slope with the right ge
ar in and right momentum.

@puccagigaru I ride a specialized s-works now so yeah some of that is true, but I know someone who rides a pos and leaves 90% of most riders in the dust.
