99.9% music of 1835 did not last, but then a lot less was being created. If you think rap or r&b or the majority of garbage put out today is going to last, dream on. Jimi Hendrix will last, as may bands of the 60s, some of the 70s, and a few of the 80s. History will tell. But to say Muse is going to last into the future is a real stretch. They're an ok band with talented musicians, but their writing is nothing that special compared to the greats. Comparing it to classical greats is nuts.
I Agree with you to some dagree. But its a dagree in a matter of opinion. I hate all music today. It may sound harsh but true and I wont go into how I feel about today's Artificial Music/Artists, But I dont get the feeling like im listening something special Like Queen, Led Zeppelin,Mozart,Chopin,Beethov en,MJ, ect.
a lot of their work is greatly inspired by piano concerto no.2 from Rachmaninov. (stuff like space dementia.) Muse is indeed awesome, going to see them in wembley in september
I love that Matthew Bellamy has gradually been increasing the classical influence of his compositions. It seems like he's trying to slowly make people more understanding of classical music... Their music has just enough rock feel to it to keep people that aren't classically educated/appreciative listening, but it maintains that element.
