I bought a box set of old country music and they had a cut of the stanley brothers from about 1945. Dr. Stanley came through town a few years back. still touring over 60 years later.

@BackRowRunner Agreed; while I listened to this great old school bluegrass I scrolled down to see what people had to say about it, and got hit in the face with hate-talk. About Ralph Stanley; this is the first time I ever heard him, and I think he's up there with Bill Monroe.

@respond2cowards You really want that again? 400 Thousand Yankee's laid dead at the hands of the south which was 25% of the "Northern Population" including all immigrants they forced into Military Service. Saw them last night in Tyler, Texas and they are FABULOUS.
Talk about old school!!! This guy is it. I live in the foothills of the Smokey Mountain National and let me tell ya...."round here, it don't get know better than Ralph Stanley"
