This whole movie is amazing, but the restaurant scene cracks me up quite a bit. His mother is wearing a shoe as a hat, while the snarky waiter insists the customer utters the number of the order (in keeping with bureaucratic nature of the movie). When the food arrives, it's nothing more than goo with a picture of how it should appear affixed to it. Gilliam packs so much comedy into such a short scene it blows the mind.
