Some footage from 1982 of the Witness "Genesis" show. This was shot at a venue near Flemington New Jersey called the Shady Lane. Being a lighting designer, show sets were always my favorites.

  • Please tell me these very talented people of the amazing band Witness have stayed true to their dream and are in the music industry in some capacity! Someone said they could not even begin to describe the energy that came from this animated band~SO TRUE ~ they were gifted! Billy made the audience feel connected. I used to elbow my way front stage Like Courtney Cox in the Bruce Springsteen video staying till the last set at the Ale House Billy, r you still playing? simon?

  • @groovN You can find a link to the band's website on my channel page, and catch up on what everyone's doing. You can also go to the "historic" Witness site and find a treasure trove of stuff about the band. There is also a chat room, where members show up from time to time.

  • You guys sounded great.

You did a whole gig of Genesis numbers?Wow,i'd have loved to hear that.Supper's Ready?I bet you played it.Probably awesome too.

  • @JDfromWitness

Michael Labuono plays still. he is in really good band out of Philly called the Love Jones band . they do mostly private stuff like weddings and big corporate events

  • I partied at the London Ale House in Wildwood long ago, only went when Witness was playing,They were the best!

  • we would be at the Circle Tavern in Brigatine (24 hr bar), and just when it seemed to get late and you were partied out, Witness would come in and set up late and play till 2 or 3am...greatest.times.ever

  • I used to go to a place right by the Willow Grove Naval Air Base in PA called 'Stingers' to see Witness. I was only 18 but the group that I always went with never missed a chance to see them. And my sister worked a season at the London Ale House and used to tell me all about it...great memories, thank you!

  • I started to follow them in 1987....it was a treat when they did Genesis...Billy would tell us only if they practiced it, would do it

  • "Follow me to Witness rocknroll @ the London Ale House."- I still have that shirt. My sister partied with this version of Witness, I partied with the later version...

  • Excellent! Incredible piano there!

What a nice cover. I found this band through the back door, I've been searching for early 80's video of the Wildwood Boardwalk which led me to the Witness website at youtube.

Clearly, I was born just a few years too late to enjoy this band out in bars the first time around. If they're still covering the prog greats such as Genesis, Yes, Tull in their current incarnation, I will be there!
