Anyone who is bodybuilding or trying to tone-up, knows that the point of failure--when the muscle gets torn down properly--is one of the most important parts of lifting. Being able to push further through that point safely will help an athlete grow faster and stronger if he/she is lifting, eating, and resting well.
Think about when you're lifting, and you're getting close to the point of failure. Just imagine getting to the point where you feel you can't push anymore, and suddenly...

...your work with the hypnotist kicks in. You feel your whole mind and body focus on pressing through those last few reps. The pain becomes just a sensation, and you feel you can blast through those last reps. Your attention locks onto the goal of getting a few more reps, and you feel yourself pushing with an intensity you didn't know you had.
