That is really a neat idea. I think it's great you do something like that for the kids. There are too many fuddy duddys these days. Kudos to you for doing something FUN!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :0

that is a LOT of work for just one day's decoration...egads.
Loved this, it looks fantastic! I too would like to know how hard the spider is to make and how long it would take. Great job!!!

The Spider is made up of about 600-800 black ballons. We buy the 8 inch balloons in bulk online. We fill them with a air pump until about half filled with air. We tie two balloons together in a knot, as we tie the balloon closed.(hard to explain). We then wrap two pairs of balloons together to make a four balloon combo.

More... The web is put up about 2 weeks before Halloween. But the spider is put up only for Halloween day.. when the kids get off the school bus, the spider is there... the balloons only last a day outside... so I let the neighbor kids "kill" the balloon spider the next morning.
Take care & be well, Rich

It takes about 100 balloons to make each spider leg. We wrap the balloon combos around a 1 inch pvc pipe. Our house smells like latex for a week.. because we do all this inside our house a few days before Halloween.

The lights are regular rope lights... Christmas decoration lights.
Purchased at WalMart. I think it roughly cost me $250 in lights.. although each year I need to buy a few more because of burn outs.
My wife told me I should sell an instruction bokklet.. haha.. it was really cool when a Baltimore news helicopter came out one year a did a live shot of our house...
