  • The cat was awry of the litter at first but ultimately used it. After a day or so I use a standard pooper scooper to scoop the poo, I have to shake it a bit more since the pellets dont filter through the scooper as well, so a scooper with large mesh holes is better. Sometimes, little bitty turd crumbs I get with the edge of the scooper. I scoop that into a plastic grocery store bag.

  • Then it gets tricky. There is a special litter box for feline pine. It's a 2 tier system, the top level has holes, like a mesh hard plastic, the wet sawdust falls through to the bottom and the remaining pellets remain on top. I haven't had time to order it yet but I'm going to.

  • Currently, I actually take the litter box and dump it into a large wire fruit bowl I got from Bed Bath and Beyond. I considered a collander, like for cooking and straining spaghetti, but it didnt work as well. I put the fruit bowl full of litter in the top of a plastic bag and shake for a minute, the wet sawdust material falls through, the remaining material I put back in the box. It's a bit of a task but not much more than dumping a litter box.

  • Heres the good part, No Odor! The pine really absorbs the urine smell. The fresh step or hartz I used before smelled like an ammonia factory. The pine really absorbs the urine.

As someone who enjoys woodworking as a hobby, it's like I'm making a piece of furniture or something cool, theres sawdust and everything! Except I'm just creating a clean litter box. It really is much cleaner. No clay dust, no pee/clay cement on the bottom of the box. The only odor is poo, so it does need to be scooped.

  • The best part is, one 20lb bag of feline pine lasts at least a month. No exageration, at least not with one cat that doesnt poo excessively. It saves a lot of money even though it costs more at first.

  • I don't understand how to scoop this litter if it falls apart :{ how does it work or how do you use it? I need a better alternative...cool video

  • special litter box, I use a wire fruit bowl to filter it until I get the box, then hold over a plastic bag. I scoop the poop though, its perfect.

  • Thats really helpful I have 6 cats ranging in age from 4 years to 3 months and clay litter is such a burden i have been looking for something easier i read the reviews on petco and petsmart website and most of them were positive so i think i'll give it a try. I also read about worlds best cat litter but that one seems pricey for 6 cats...in the end i'll probably get feline pine...thank you very much for your advice much appreciated <3
