This is me doing some barre work in my kitchen, the ideal place for any dancer! I have only been dancing for 2 years, so any suggestions or helpful advice would be great! I know my turnout sucks; working on it. =)

  • wait...why arent you wearing clothes?

this is ballet not a burlesque club.

  • 1. watch your hips 2. never sink into your hip 3. turn out 4. put your heel down in saute 5. go onto your box 6. don't rely or hold on like to the kitchen counter 7. use your demi point if you're in RAD 8. slow down on plie 9. what's with your arms? 10. get off pointe for your own good, it looks like you've been extremely rushed, not only can't you even do some everyday ballet properly and you're on pointe? btw, i'm not being rude because I know what pointe is...I'm on it (a beginner)

  • Hey your not half bad!:) just work in holding and moving your arms through your back.. And sliding your foot into tandu through the ball if your foot! Good Job!:))

  • Hey, jeadoresteve. I've been reading some of the things on here and while almost all of these people are giving you good advice, don't get discouraged by the rude way it's provided. It's true that you shouldn't be on pointe yet - you've only been dancing two years and you're not technically strong enough yet. It's terribly dangerous and could put you out for good. You've got a great set of strong thighs - take your time to condition them for dance; don't rush. Keep it up on flat and be careful.

  • Hhmmm yeaah I'm not going to go into much detail with what's wrong here because many have already. But I just wanted to say that since you're pretty new to pointe you should be sticking to easier things on pointe, like shage-mane de piee's and just rising up and pakurues. Don't go off on arabesque yet, you're not quite ready or balanced. Either way not a bad job, just don't jump too high up since you're new to this!! :)

  • you have very bad upload to plie and pointe shoes insecure, wait to show you your teacher

  • @balletisodessa oh pull your god damn head in. at least she is trying and your horrible comments can apply to probably half the dancers out there. if you can do better GOOD, but dont try and bring someone like her down who is actually DOING something other than insulting others.

god rude people really tick me off ><"

  • @balletisodessa She admits she's only been dancing for a short time and not since she was old enough to walk. Hope that berating her made you feel better about yourself. Uggh...

  • @balletisodessa- Damn, you're an asshole. Way to encourage people. And her turnout doesn't bite... not all people are born with the ability turn their legs all the way out to the side. Why are ballet dancers so snobby?

  • And your not turned out and you can't hold balance your just not ready I have been on pointe for 5 years trust me i know what I'm talking about ...

  • Your coming up to fast on your Grande and you should point your toes harder...

  • when you do a changement make sure you put your heels down! or any jump for that matter or you will hurt yourself!
