In July and August 2009, students from Wiluna Remote Community School joined artists Jessie Borrelle and Jon Tjhia for Awesome Arts' Open Book Creative Challenge.
The students explored sound recording (using portable digital recorders, computers and cassette recorders) as a way of sharing stories, creating music and expressing their very unique personalities.
After two weeks with the visiting artists, the kids (from years 5 to 11) had produced a sound story and a large hand-drawn mural map of Wiluna.
In part 1, you'll hear the students talk about their favourite things, their aspirations, a few good jokes and the story of a mysterious beast called Mamu.
