Ok, got it- you could get away with leaving it as is. The other videos look interesting , too- I was linked to this one while looking at mine and U-dig websites in the Mount Ida area. The wife and I might be vacationing in AR this year, and while she's mainly into the metaphysical aspects of quartz, I'm trying to talk her into doing some digging and having some good dirty fun (isn't good CLEAN fun, that's for sure!)

Right at the end, the man said "that one don't go in the bucket." Did he mean in a bucket of oxalic acid solution (for cleaning) or something else?

I just mean that its too big and too nice to go into a bucket with other crystals. It will be set aside and loaded into the truck by itself to keep it in good condition.

Due to the dangerous working conditions tourists are not allowed in the area shown in this video.
However there are plenty of safe areas where you can try your luck digging for a pocket or picking through the tailings pile. The day this video was taken 3 loads of very rich tailings were dumped for the folks visiting the mine.
This is one of the most active mines and a great place to visit. For more information on visiting the mine follow the link in the description box!
