Another thing that is strange is that places like Poza Rica, Veracruz-llave and Tampico, Tamaulipas in the lowlands have been unusually cool. These areas are slightly south of the Tropic of Cancer and have had evening temps in the upper 30s-lower 40s.

We got hit with the same system in Toronto on Wednesday which shut down the schools for the day. We had to shovel the driveway twice and the city's snowplows came by and cleared the snow from the sidewalks and streets. They're very efficient here so we had no problems driving around to run errands.

It does snow in Mexico.... Im from the town of Temosachic in Mexico and temperatures can drop to -20 Fahrenheit there, so no snow is not rare in Mexico
