  • I think they just cared about getting some stuff as accurate as possible i don't think they really hated the idea of the movie being made.

  • @WhiskeyyWoman she did live in hawaii though. I like that they filmed in Hawaii and had many Hawaiian faces, even if they didn't have lots of speaking roles. Also, I loved hearing the actress, Leo Akana, speak - I was like: "That's a person who really IS from Hawaii!" Makes me miss the old days.

  • @84kedld0f9gh didn't ka'iulani die after being sick for months after riding a horse in the rain?

  • I don't believe that being a blooded Hawaiian gives you any special claim to history. The only thing a person is is the culmination of their experiences: lived, read, felt, touched, etc. That being true, history belongs to those who research it. None today can claim to have been there, they must rely on external sources. Hawaiian blood doesn't make you a historian.

  • loving the hair

  • that facehair is epic

  • @MolokaiAlika Hey Kalakaua and Queen Lili'uokalani were both good leaders, Queen Lili'uokalani especially. Would have been different if Queen Emma won, yeah, but you really think that the Lili'uokalani made a bad choice in choosing to stand down instead of fighting the U.S. Hey they weren't like Kamehameha but they were still great leaders.

  • This was not meant to be a documentary or be historically accurate. It is only a story being told by non-Hawaiians.

  • Well, if Queen Emma would have won the election and not Kalakaua, perhaps history would have played out totally differently. The Kalakaua dynasty was an embarassment to na kanaka maoli. Lets not white wash the facts with revisionism. These individuals in the Kalakaua dynasty including Kaiulani were not "TOA" as the Kamehameha line, kaumaha e.

  • @Hawnguy100 Go ahead. All you fuckers never do learn from history... that is why america is an epic fail... As you Past to present to future... alright I know what you are saying, But really your generation this generation... all generations never did learn from the history or past. and even now all you hawaiians are fighting for hawaii back... psh... you get hawaii back and it will epic fail more... Only remote few Hawaiians know how to live off the land... cause people are lazy. good day! ^^
