Mother 3: Mr. Passion

Going in the footsteps of BSXD I take on Mr. Passion, the music-loving ghost.

Passion can be hard if you are not prepared, he has strong attacks and can make his own offence go up a couple of points. However, sometimes he hits for measly damage and the sound of mouses are heard, I don't know if this was thrown in to be funny or is something that happens when you lower his attack sometimes.

The key to winning is the hypnitc pendulum comboed with the Fear Mask and in rare cases the Tickle Feather. With these he will not be able to take huge chunks out of your lifebar all the time, and the hypnotic pendulum makes it easier to combo as well as rendering him unable to attack for a while.

I managed somewhat in the fight, but I screwed up combo-wise many times.

The mouse squeaking attack is when he literally makes a mouse fly at you. You can see the mouse before the fight, being spun around in the air, and after the battle he talks to you.

I liked this fight. The music choice was interesting and it was a really good introduction to using Duster's thief tools strategically. It really got the message across that this game wasn't meant to be a grindfest, and the battles are hard because they're supposed to make you think about how to beat the enemy.
