@mufc4527 the problem with sticking to reported figures is that they 1. they may not be accurate 2,not all knife crimes are reported. There are myriad of reasons why a crime isn't reported. Which is why a survey can be far more revealing. In my previous reply I presented to you a bit of logic, which you obviously failed to grasp. You were trying to relate number of knife crimes to death i.e. murder, as if there were a direct one-to-one correlation.

your point isn't a point, obviously there is a very high chance of people dying in hospital, like there's a pretty good chance of dying in a knife attack but i'm asking you if you think 1 in every 680 attacks resulting in one murder is realistic? and you choose to pick the the survey instead of the actual reported figures. the reported figures are 22,000 and you're figure is 169,000 i have no idea where this 147,000 comes from?

@mufc4527 I suppose you could say with your logic that sense people die in hospitals the death rate in hospitals could be directly correlated to the number of people who inter hospitals! so your more likely to die in a big city hospital that a small country hospital. other wise "it just wouldn't add up, as you say!"

@mufc4527 according to Wikipedia the BCS surveys 50,000 people living in private households about crime, across england and wales, there is no mention of their surveys being limited to the inner city's!

@mufc4527 where is your logic, knife crime=murder! thanks to medical technology the survival rate for stabbings and shooting has gone up considerably.and medical technology is just one of hundreds if not thousands of variables that come into play. there is no way of predicting the number of murders by counting the number of incidents of knife crime or even gun crime! and where did your get that the sample came from the inner city?
