What are you putting on at the very beginning (:10 or so) that looks kind of clear? Is it some sort of primer?

It's just water. And before that I've painted the edges with wax

The dye is just the regular acryllic dye.

when I paint large areas, there are inconsistancies is there anything you could recommend to me for a more solid look? I paint on sheets I get at the second hand store. I make my own paint using procion, urea, sodium algamate. sponge or large brush for application.

NICE WORK!!! btw, any recommendations of what brand of wax and where's the best place to get it? Also the melting pan and stuff. I'm starting to do researches on these. I'm an indonesian who currently lives in LA and find it hard to get those things here..

I loved watching the batik artwork become such a beautiful pattern before my very eyes! So, do you wet the whole fabric , then paint it with melted wax, then with dyes, then iron out the wax between paper sheets? Do you set the color before washing your artwork, if you use it as a shirt or skirt, in vinegar or something?
