Movie Synopsis: An author achieves fame with a tawdry bestseller and then begins translating an 18th-century erotic diary. In the process, she begins to question her seven-year marriage to a college professor. Parker Posey, Jeremy Northam, Craig Chester, Elizabeth McGovern, Corbin Bernsen, Brooke Shields, Justine Waddell, Stéphane Freiss. This movie has no MPAA rating but has mild sexual content and brief nudity. This DVD has been discontinued by the manufacturer. @diddymuck I think you've missed on major attraction of this flick: Jeremy Northam shirtless. I like some of the wordplay, too, i.e. "You come by everything fresh." "I come by everything stupid." I have ADD and can relate to that sentiment. Also: "I feel like a kid whose called a fat lady fat - I can't apologise, I meant it."

I like this movie, it's funny, but at the same time it makes you to think!!! Well, and we can see a great cast: Brooke Shields...
