This video clip on how to perform an effective salary negotiation is from my recruiter training DVD "The Complete System on Achieving Success in Recruiting and Staffing" available at http://www.recruitertrainingvideo.com
The recruiter's goal is to close the deal, then convince the company to throw the next search their way. Shaving off a few thousand in salary costs them little in commission for the honor of boasting to the hiring company that they got them their candidate on the cheap.
To all job seekers, remember who butters the bread...it's not the candidate.
if you want 65k and no less, and he can offer 63k, and he's got 20 other candidates for the same position, he wouldn't bother asking you if you'll take 2k less.
You absolutely MUST let a recruiter know your salary - after all we're going to try and get the highest salary possible for you! I've never heard ONE good arguement against giving a recruiter your EXACT salary details - but could give you a 100 why you should.
i think this is a great video, lots of info especially for me, who 's just joining the contract recruiting field. I would like to chat with people who are seniors in this field and who don't mind coaching me
I wished I would of seen this video before my negotiation today with a recruiter.
