The National Trust of Australia (NSW) invited the Australian Journalist of the Year, Paul McGeough, to deliver the heritage organisation's 2005 Heritage Lecture. Paul McGeough discusses Australia's role in world affairs, debates if Australians are adequately informed about this rapidly changing world and emphasises the need to better understand the culture/heritage of other countries. He also shares some of his most memorable reporting moments with the audience.

A former editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, McGeough was named Australian Journalist of the Year in 2005. As the Herald's chief foreign correspondent, he now reports on international crisis and conflict.

This lecture was recorded on Wednesday 12th October 2005, before a live audience at the MCA Foundation Hall, Museum of Contemporary Arts, Circular Quay, Sydney.
