FASDO was developed by a group of dedicated people with the vision that the children and youth in this area can receive the necessary education with which to change their future. They need to build self-esteem, develop critical thinking skills and need mastery of technology to succeed in the 21st century. FASDO is building a technology center in this very poor area of Dar es Salaam. It will offer these students the necessary technological tools to begin to transform their lives in a positive way to enhance their chances of becoming employed. This educational opportunity combined with mentoring holds the promise of success for these students. Mobile Device Developers, MDD, has pledged the necessary funds to construct the first class room in this center. Mr. Rodney Colley, CEO of MDD, has also graciously offered to help tutor these students himself when the center has been constructed.
"This is fantastic news. This is the critical support that we need to begin to develop our center. Without this commitment from MMD we would not be able to begin construction of our new center," said Ms. Lilian Nabora, Project Coordinator for FASDO. "No-one is destined to live a life of poverty, because each of us has the ability to change everything in this life. Every person has their own unique circumstances to overcome, but every single person has the opportunity to achieve anything -- and change everything." Said Mr Rodney Colley, CEO of Mobile Device Developers, MDD Mobile Device Developers LLC was founded and based on the principles of integrity, technological innovation, discipline, and sound business practices. We are based in the Washington D.C. Metropolis Area, just minutes away from many of our Federal Government clients. Our founder, Mr. Rodney Colley was inspired to fill a niche in the market place for customized, web enabled mobile applications and launched MMD in 2009.
Faru Sports and Arts Development Organization is a NGO based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. It was registered by the Tanzanian government in 2009. It's primary mission is to help children from a very poor community who do not have the opportunity to escape the poverty into which they are born. Child prostitution, HIV virus transmission and loss of childhood accompany this cycle of poverty. Education represents the main method for these children to change their future. Many children come from families in which education is not encouraged or promoted. These children need all the opportunities to succeed in their education. Building self-esteem, developing critical thinking skills and success in the educational environment is a big challenge.
