The stock gibson and fender pickups are far from perfect, if they work for you good. But many people want to get the best out of their intruments or perhaps something different that cant be acheived with the stock setup.

I'm not sure that the Dr. Z prescribed clean tones

Do you have a four way switch on it? I just bought those pickups and are going to install them soon and was weighing the option to put in a 4 way switch as well. thanks

Come on, get that pickup selector switch cleaned up! ;) Good OD sound, nice work there. That attenuator is saving the day for certain. Why can't someone do a single KT66 verision of this thing at half the wattage for practice at home? :(

nice playing and sweet guitar. i found that lindy fralin pups work best for me. the "vintage hot" set is very balenced and when u turn the volume down they still let the sparkles through without missing any of the strings "vibes" i guess u could say.

How are the harmonics?

@2derrilicious1 Dr. Z is a very high dollar clean amp, Brad Paisley plays them.
-
by stacking them, you get the single coil tone without the noise
-
Instead of coils being side by side they stacked on top of one another
Nice tone. I'm trying to decide what pickups to put in my tele, and this video is pretty convincing. Although Becky recommended their twin blade model for my tele. This is the sound I'm looking for though. Do you find it hard to get a good rock sound out of your tele, like do you have to crank the gain higher than you would for a humbucking guitar?

@TheeLoveland87 The rock tones are just fine with these pickups. Maybe not quite as hot as humbuckers, but they certainly get a nice grind especially if you use any sort of boost or overdrive pedal as I often do. I just uploaded a few videos of one of my bands that demonstrates the rock tones pretty well.

Hey beckanon. What pickup model is the bridge pickup? is that the L-298?

I think when I bought these years ago the bridge was called a TL-280. Not sure what the model names are now, but I bought directly from Becky.
