Here's a modofocation that you don't see every day, John Edwards @ Costa Mesa R&D Automotive Machine is drilling a new bolt pattern for a modern clutch on a 1960 Triumph flywheel for a Morgan. Check it out. (949) 631-6376

  • John you're awesome. I'm curious how do center the flywheel perfectly in the vise so that you know you're drill head is starting from the dead center? Same goes for how you know the drill head dead center for using it as a tap guide. Thanks

  • @makaveli200369 - I have a special too to align it to the quill. Just go back to the coordinates and you are dead nut to the hole drilled holes.

  • Just wondering but why couldn't you do this on a mill or a lathe? o.o

  • @briggsandclones - The layout and drilling are done on the mill, the grinding is done on a fl;ywheel grinder, I do not use the lathe to remove hard spots which generally can't be removed.

  • Let's see the math you had to do to figure out where to drill the holes.

  • @CoolasIce2 - Ahh, you want the hard part for free... I will sell you the cheat sheet, but I'm not giving it away. I spend a lot of time doing these videos to educate people, but for the thinking part, I get paid.

  • This is a very informative video. To boot John is a hell of a nice guy! had a question, called him and he helped me out, saved me a couple days and a few dollars. I would recomend him to anyone, a stand up guy!

  • your videos are awesome

  • Great video! It's good when you can find someone like yourself to do quality work and take the time to explain the process. I'm lucky I've found a few all the way out here in Brisbane Australia.

  • quality work like this is hard to find these days
