  • @BlueFireMai , That might be true, but his songwriting is purposely incoherent, 'lazy' and prose-like. The vibe you get from his music is a certain kind of emotion coupled with an inability to organize and rationalize his thoughts; even if he did have the linguistic tools to convey his thoughts and emotion, you get the feeling that he's too confused about his situation to put it in to words. It's fine the way it is, though I do see your point.

  • something about these lovesick days, he gets this.

  • Christ was born. I was there.

  • @hotapplepipe yes true, but thats true of tons of bands, like belle and sebastian and a bunch of others that i cant think of. but im not gonna lie i only heard of him when i was back in melbourne for a week last july

  • @SenorBeagleCulo Well *now* he is finally getting some recognition, but its not like most people have any idea who he is. He's been around since 2001 and only started getting played on the radio in 2011 in the US.

  • @hotapplepipe gotye is pretty damn recognised mate hahaha

  • there is so much garbage music out there being shoved down the throats of mtv watchers while bands like jose gonzalez, junip, wu lyf, gotye, tiny vipers and kurt vile (many more of course) should actually be recognized for their incredible talent. their shows always sell out and most people havent even heard of them. the gap between what music execs want people to like and whats actually good is getting bigger and bigger.

  • @spreng13 i totally understand that desire to keep something special from being cheapened by the masses, but kurt's music should be shared- for him, for you and for me! we all gain a little something from it. and if you really must, you can always say you were listening to him back before he was popular...or whatever.

    just ENJOY and......

if you love something set it free.

  • @trichmond99 Just a wee bit pedantic.

  • Southside Festival 2012 <3

  • this stuffs amazing. his melodies seem so half arsed first time you hear them but the songs keep growing and growing on you. the way he re arranges earlier phrases from the song and puts them against other repeated phrases is pretty cool. the last line being a case in point. great song.

  • The start of this song sounds so much like "I'm set free" by the Velvet Underground to me. It's still my fave song off the album, so good
