Discussion of Dr. Romanides' "Franks, Romans, Feudalism.." in which this famed classical languages scholar and Orthodox theologian reveals Charlemagne's creation of a new political -religious institution which was called "roman" (it was European), and "catholic" (again only in Europe, not "universal"). Historians have generously and without question, repeated this barbarian king's accusation against the Orthodox Christian worldwide Church as "pagan" and "greek". This Church of the Apostles is still known as "Roum Orthodox" by those in the Middle East from where the followers of Christ spread the Gospel of salvation in His Name. Father James Matta and Judith Irene Matta host the program from the Orthodox Christian Mission in Santa Maria CA ; this program is seen in both San Luis Obispo county and the city of Santa Maria.

  • (continued) He and his successors after him killed their way through Europe (St. Boniface writes that Orthodox Christians killed like pagans) His successors placed their stooge on the bishop's chair.

  • The Orthodox Church of Chalcedon's time has is not related to the present papacy a secular-religious anomaly created by Charlemagne.

  • Three profligate popes and all fighting over the power - not a "watch". I for one, choose the Medici popes for examples of papal greatness because they personify the Frankish pagans in Old Rome.

  • @PapalSoldier : Read the Holy Scriptures! To verify that Faith in Christ - not Peter- is the Rock of salvation, (Matt. 16:23) the Lord Jesus said to Peter "Get thee behind me, Satan: you are an offense to Me.." Peter was fallible! Faith says "Thou art the Christ, the Son of God"! as Peter said. Christ breathed on ALL the apostles (Matt 20: 22). Note: Medieval times saw three popes... including utter profligates after Franks took over in 10th century. The papacy is a cult!

  • @JudithMatta 1. The Popes authority comes from St.Matthew 16:18

“Although the universal Catholic Church all over the world is one bridal chamber of Christ, nevertheless the Holy Roman Church did not obtain the primacy by any synodical constitutions, but by the evangelical voice of our Lord and Savior: ‘Thou art Peter and upon this rock.’” Pope St. Gelasius (ca. 492 A.D.)

  • @PapalSoldier : Seat of Roman empire was moved to Constantinople "New Rome" because barbarians' threat. As former seat of emperor, old Rome was given first place - but only "first among equals", - certainly with no "infallible man" as "Vicar" of Christ - Who most certainly is with us if only read Scriptures. That delusion came later when papal states were conquered by Franks (@9th century).

  • @PapalSoldier : Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem and Constantinople were all Orthodox.. The patriarch (pope) of Rome was Orthodox until 10th century when Frankish appointee and secularization began (See Photion problem). Charlemagne wrote a creed for his sham church (800ad). Pseudo-Isidorian Decretals and so-called Gift of Constantine were laughable forgeries used by Frankish popes which led eventually in the fires of the Inquisition for those doubting claims of Petrine primacy.

  • @JudithMatta 4 Bishoprics? is this the only history the "orthodox" know? seems like everyone watched that video on youtube. If you knew anything regarding history, you would know it was a 1 to 1 split. Constantinople left Rome, and the other bishops of the 3 places weren't even legit, most were monophysites.

Are you aware that Chalcedon, called The Bishop of Rome, "The Head of The Church?"

The east would have been in hell, if it wasn't for Rome. The east was in heresy for over 600 years.

  • @PapalSoldier Note: if one church (Old Rome) leaves Four other Bishoprics, who left whom? Hmmm?

  • @PapalSoldier Read Nicene council believers in Christ's divine nature "Orthodox". The papal church began in Europe for Frankish Europeans in one language Latin - not worldwide. Ancient Orthodox have languages of every nation from the Apostles' times. The Crusades began as soon Frankish warriors took over the papal throne.. They are violent. But you've probably stopped reading this since the cult of the pope has captured you with its pagan doctrines of purgatory, depravity, etc.
