  • Hi! I have two Line 6 studio modeller rack effects (Echo Pro and Mod Pro) and I can't get G-System's tap tempo to work with these units properly. They respond only to CC value 127 (like many other rack units by different vendors) and G-System sends two values. I would like to be able to assign both CC values manually in G-System's setup. Can this be made available to set by user in upcoming 3.50 firmware?

  • The switches can be programmed in the Switch menu.

    Hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • Hi Joey,

    Thanks for your answer.

I didn't mean reprogramming the button, but Tap Tempo CC - right now I can change CC# in edit mode, but I can't change values that are sent by G-System, the whole idea is to sync G-System with Line 6 gear, not having two different tap tempos - one for G-Sys, another for external gear.

  • Hello again,

It is not possible to change the CC values of the TAP button which will always toggle between 0 and 127 in an alternate mode. Press 1 = 127, press 2= 0, press 3 = 127 etc

I dont know if sending a 0 value stops the Line 6 reading the tempo, or if they just use the 127 value If they still read the 127 value, the tempo will be divided by two when tapped. So the solution would be to tap the tempo at double speed.

  • OR...

you can try to assign another switch button of the board to TAP TEMPO in a momentary mode. This means that the button will send 127 when pressed and 0 when depressed. This will allow you to tap the tempo at normal speed BUT since I do not have a Line 6 , I dont know if they still respond to the 127 (ignoring the 0) or if it simply does not work at all If you could let us know, that'd be great! I dont think version 3.50 will allow you to change the CC values for TAP.

  • Hope this helps a bit?! Please also feel free to contact our support team via our website (sorry, YouTube wont allow me to post links).

    Give me a shout anytime!

    Best wishes,

    Joey @ TC

  • Hey TC people. Do any of you know what tempo CC I need the G-System to send to an Adrenalinn 2 to get it's tempo to synch/match the GS's? Thanks.

  • Hiya,

The G-System TAP switch button CC will always toggle between the two values (0 and 127). The TAP switch button cannot be reprogrammed as it is also the EDIT mode button. You can reprogram another Switch button (i.e. Loop4) to send a MIDI CC in a momentary way This means that when you press it, it always sends 127, and when you release, it sends 0. I dont know if this will work with your Line 6 effects, but I suppose they will ignore the 0 value.

  • thanks hopefully the 2 expression pedals and the midi cable will be out before this year so i can get the gsystem and nova drive for christmas..

  • Well spotted! Where G-Major 2 calculates the tempo based on the latest two taps, G-System uses an average tempo based on the latest 4 taps. Thats why the two displays do not show the exact same time.
