Marjories Hines? She didnt get much credit for her voice over work and impersonations, but i agree with you she sounds more like Helen Kane than Mae Questel.

  • Helen Kane is the original, but I'd have to say that Marjie Hines was very true to her craft as well.

  • @goldsman

I cant remember the source's, i think this was recorded not long before she died. its nice to know a tiny bit about her voice work.

  • Where are these recordings from? Very interesting!

that wasnt to credit bonnie poe as the original, its just they used bonnie poes booping in the interview, and mae responded saying i think i sounded like that.

they would never bring helen kane up in any interviews and none of the voices of Betty Boop would admit that it was a kane impersonation.

although we do know in fact it all was a helen kane impersonation or mae questel wouldnt be preforming

( Button up your Overcoat) as Betty Boop.

  • You would think that after her many successful years in show business that Mae would finally admit that she stole or at least "borrowed" Helen Kane's personna. Crediting Bonnie Poe was an outrageous insult to the woman whose career she helped ruin.
