Here is a 30" wingspan sailplane made from AeroAce / X-Twin components that is a superb flyer.
Total weight is 29 grams. This is made from the $30US toy airplane sold by Air Hogs in US, and X-Twin I think also called Softlite in UK. I have built 30 airplanes from this gear, and this is the most graceful and fun flyer in very calm wind conditions. Give it a try!!

  • do you add air foil to any of these planes

  • @freakonflight

Airfoil is really not required at these low speeds and low wing Reynolds number. Mostly the inertia of the air that "floats" the plane. So a flat slab wing works fine. I used to put a crease in the wing just to make more rigid. But try thin bamboo cooking squeres (like in sish-ka-bob) to stiffen the wing at very light weight. Experiment!! That's what is great about these simple airplanes that you can build in an eveing!

  • That flies really nice, any range problems?

  • @ScienceguyOrg

I always add another 12 inches of ine copper wire to extend the tiny aero ace receiver original short antenna. This seems to extend the range so that I can easily fly these little airplanes out at least 50 yards. This is plenty of range for great flying fun. Remeber the first rule of RC flying: if you can't SEE it you can't FLY it (heh-heh!).

  • how did u connect the two motors together

  • @liloliver2007

The aero ace circuit board has the motors already connected. Just remove the electronics from Aero Ace, and put in the new airplane!

  • good landing keep on making these they are great

  • I was wondering about extending the antenna, good idea. I put Aero Ace gear in my Foam Jet II, glider built from foam plate and meat tray. I have a short video on YouTube under youbub33. Bill Kuhl

  • i put my parts from the msr with the exception of the motor, on a similar plane and it flies awesome, but id like to put it on this one!

  • please can i have the plans?

  • hi, can you tell me how you make the aerofoils? do you just bend flat sheet? thanks
